• Question: why is it that in some species, females hunt and males dont?

      I guess it depends on whether one of the genders is more effective in hunting and whether the other has another important function. For example, in lions, the male’s really important job is to protect the pride and their territory. If he fails, his cubs will be killed by the male that takes over. this uses up his energy and attention and if he got injured during a hunt that would live the pride very vulnerable. The females are very strong hunters and more than capable of killing without him so it makes sense.
