• Question: Why do cats have two different types of purrs? What is the point of it?

      Cats purr for different reasons so it is probably that they have a different purr for the context. They purr when they are happy and contented but they also purr when injured or in pain – it is suggested that that is due to purring being a good healing mechanism – although that may be speculation rather than fact!
