Oh wow – that’s a hard question. I’m inspired and in awe of anyone who stands up for what they believe in even when lots of other people try to put them down for it. That includes people like Charles Darwin and Nelson Mandela. One of them stood by an idea that he thought was right and the other stood against something he knew was wrong. Neither one gave up or backed down.

Oh wow goodness, tough choice! Actually maybe someone like Stephen Hawking, he is a living example of how much the correct attitude contributes to success in life!

I have a few heroes – or role models. Sometimes if I have a difficult decision to make I wonder what they would do or how they would behave.
David Attenborough is one – he explains complex ideas simply and has a quiet enthusiasm which helps us enjoy the wonder of nature. He also seems like a nice person – I can imagine sitting down for a chat with him over a coffee.
Anyone who works on lifeboats is a bit of a hero to me – putting their lives in danger to save others.
I have met a few amazing people who have done inspiring things too. One of them set up an orphanage in Kenya which I will leave some of my money too if I win this competition. She went there on a school trip to volunteer as a teenager. While she was there they decided close the orphanage. She saw how many children had nowhere to go so she went back to the Scottish island community where she lives, raised money from cake sales and all sorts and went back to Kenya and built a new orphanage – an inspiration to us all, especially as she was still in school at the time. You can hear her tell her story in this Youtube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BknJhelBoc
