Oh my goodness – imagine how smart we’d be! There must be a reason why we don’t use all of it at the same time though, otherwise we would. Maybe it would damage the brain in some way to use up too many resources? It could be like if you plug too many devices into a socket and the fuse blows! i definitely don’t want a fuse blowing in my brain….
I think there’s a lot we don’t know about the human brain yet so we might have to wait to find out about this one!

I love this question, I think i love it most because I have absolutely no idea! Humans are so complex and our brain function is sort of wowing scientists every day (I actually recently watched a documentary where a baby born with water on the brain had actually basically re-grown a brain, which the doctors never even thought was possible)! I hope one day we can find out a proper answer to this question though!

I think in some ways we do – if we used all parts at once nothing would make any sense and we would run out of energy, like a party when everyone talks at once, noone can hear anything and then the lights go out

I think we do. I mean, we can always stop looking back at our phones and checking facebook and focus more on what we’re doing but I think the whole idea that we only use up to 20% of our brains is just science fiction. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

Hello! Yes the myth that we only use 10-20% of our brain is a myth. I think what was portrayed was the idea that our analytical skills or intelligence is using only 10% of the brain. The rest of the brain is constantly being used for our purposes like regulating our hormones, our feelings and for doing routine jobs like having us breathe without thinking that we need to!
