• Question: What is your favourite thing to do as a scientist?

      I have two favourite things – designing a cool experiment or study that will answer your question and analysing the data you collect to find out what the results are.

      Finding out new things! I love the whole process of doing that – from collecting the data and entering everything into the computer to doing some statistical tests to see if I have found anything of interest!

      I love sitting in a warm field, microphone pointing at a bird sitting very close, watching the pattern of its song on screen. They are so precise and neat, it’s amazing. This picture shows a recording in action:

      Field work. I love spending time outdoors, surrounded by nature, study animals in their own habitat.

      Haha nice! Sleep in my hammock in the forest and listen to the river waters and cricket sounds at night. The stars in the sky are just so bright and beautiful away from the city lights! Thanks for this question!
