Ooo gosh, really great question! You have sparked a complete debate in our office 🙂

I can’t quite decide between brain or heart… you can’t be alive without your heart but then hearts can be replaced with pigs hearts (i think, or at least parts of hearts), but then if you didn’t have a brain you could still be medically alive… but the brain (as far as I know) can’t be replaced with anything (yet!).

I don’t know! What do you think?

I don’t think there is one organ that is most important, because without the heart or lungs for example, you can’t live. Brain, heart, lungs, liver, spleen and kidneys are all pretty essential… and so is the stomach actually!

Lots of organs are important: if we missed any of them we would die. The skin is the largest organ – imagine living with no skin! And without a heart we would die very quickly too. The brain controls pretty much everything though and is the most complicated organ in the human body. Keep fit, eat healthily and look after yourself and all your organs – testing your brain with schoolwork will help keep your brain healthy too.

There are so many organs in our body that we can’t live without – I’m going to go with brain though because that’s where the essence of you being you comes from. You memories, preferences, problem solving and emotional responses are all there – plus none of the other organs will know what to do without the brain!

I’d say the brain or heart but then again the lungs are needed for breathing! Modern technology allows us to survive without lungs by manually inflating them
When they stop functioning. In fact, there’s similar artificial hearts nowadays that have helped many people. My final answer is thus the brain!
