Cellulose is a material use by plant cells to build a wall around the cells. The wall is needed to keep the cell firm so that plants can stand upright to get sun!

Cellulose is a compound that gives structure to the cell walls of vegetal cells. Generally, one thinks of cellulose as the compound that gives vegetal material a fibrous quality, the more cellulose the most fibrous a material feels, like bark, or cotton.
