• Question: It is true that when you cut a hair it grows with more intensity? If yes, why?

      I had heard this but didn’t know if it was true or not… a little google search reveals actually it isn’t true! Which makes sense… been as your hair grows from the roots and you are cutting off the ends which are the other end of the hair. Your hair grows about a quarter of an inch a month apparently 🙂

      Hi MarcS, this is actually a myth. The reason why person would think as such is because people get older at the same time and hence produce darker hair or grow hair at places that never had hair before.

      If our hair was made of grass then yes it might be true. But our hair is not grass – even if you dye yours green!

      If you cut your hair once a week it will not grow faster than if you cut it once a month. One study got people to shave one leg every week but not the other leg. After a few months they measured the hair growing on each leg. There was no difference in its thickness, its width of how fast it grew. I’m just glad they didn’t shave my leg.
