  Elephants don’t technically ‘run’ but rather walk at speed – they have been recorded reaching speeds of about 15mph. That doesn’t sound very fast but for an animal of that size it is certainly quite speedy!

Probably run when alarmed by humans and predators. Like Ellen said, 15mph is a good estimate.
