Once. When I was 16, I went to Edinburgh for a week in the summer to improve my english. I stayed with a family and had english classes during the day. It was a great week!
I have been to Scotland lots of times – I love it! In fact it was one of my first trips to Scotland (near Aberdeen) that got me interested in animal behaviour. I was an undergraduate student and was sent there to record some birds singing (corn buntings). I loved the fieldwork, I loved the scenery, I loved the accent. Now I go back most years, mainly to the island of North Uist and the Outer Hebrides to record birds singing, but also to visit a friend in Glasgow. Oh, and another friend in Aberdeen. And then there’s the Edinburgh Fringe Festival too…
I have but only for a conference and also to one of my study zoos. I haven’t ever actually spent any real time in Scotland although I would dearly love to visit! My wish will come true soon though as in September I am running in the Lochness marathon. I also like to do a lot of walking and outdoor swimming so I would like to explore some of the many beautiful hills/mountains and lochs in the area.
I have and I love it. I’ve been up in the Highlands and to Edinburgh and Glasgow quite a few times. It’s quite like parts of Northern Ireland where I’m from so I think that’s why I feel so at home there.
Yes! Its beautiful, I went to Lake District and Edinburgh and even camped in the cold in one other place in Scotland, for which I got ill coz of the cold. Guess I’m just a tropical individual.
