I honestly couldn’t pick. I’d be very unhappy if I had to give either one up. In one your searching for answers and learning all the time, in the other your helping other people search for answers and guiding their learning. Both of those are amazing
I don’t really have much experience of teaching but I have enjoyed doing all the teaching I have done so far. I guess it depends whether the subject I am teaching is my area of expertise or not – research is always my area of expertise so I definitely like that 🙂
Research definitely, but that’s partly because I have done a lot more research than teaching, so I’m more comfortable doing it, it feels more natural. I also enjoy teaching but because i don’t teach very frequently I get quite nervous and I need to prepare a lot before each class.
I enjoy them both for different reasons. When I am teaching I am usually talking about someone’s research. And when I am doing research I am learning new things myself, so they are mixed together in a way. If I had to give up one….. I’d give up half of each!
