• Question: Why queen bees are so important for regular bees

      Because all the other bees are sterile – this means that they can’t produce offspring themselves but instead the have important jobs. They protect the colony, forage for food and bring it back, care for the queen and care for the larvae she produces. Without an active queen, the hive can’t continue because there will be no new bees.
