We’re seen as a potential predators to lots of animals so they quite rightly protect themselves by hiding or running away when we’re around. We hunted many animals throughout our evolution and it causes those species to have an innate fear of us – that means they’re born with the fear and don’t have to learn it. Of course, some humans still do things to harm those animals too but most of us wouldn’t and just want to watch and appreciate them now
