• Question: Why can't you never reach the horizon?

      Well, you can reach the horizon. It’s just that when you get there there is a new horizon further away too.

      can’t you? if your horizon is as far as you can see, if you look at a wall nd walk up to it,surely you can reach your horizon! 😉

      More seriously, if you define horizon as the point where earth and sky “meet”, this is only a visual perception, and not reality, but it is dependent on distance, this perception can only occur at the farthest distance you can see. So if you’re always looking the farthest you can see, then by definition, you cannot reach it.

      The horizon we see is not a constant location. The world is round and the horizontal we see is a location about 100 km away because that’s
      What the earth to us is perceived as flat.

      We move 20km towards the horizon, the horizon seen is still 100km away because it is new location 100km away from where you are standing
