Very good question. Chickens are quite promiscuous in their sexual behaviour, meaning both males and females have multiple partners. Therefore, there are many interesting behaviour that seem really clever and some are reflected in humans.
For example, the male chicken offers a juicy treat if he wants to mate with a female. When he finds a worm, he will call out to her. Sometimes this is a trick! When the female looks down for the worm that is not there, the male grabs her comb and forces the female to mate with him! How deceptive!
Even more interesting: The female chicken if she were forced by a male to mate, can eject up to 80% of the sperm of the male if she really doesn’t like him.
Hello, thought I’d add something more. Chickens have been used as a model organism for studying many aspects of biology and in addition to Biology, the immune system is already very interesting as we can study how it works and perhaps learn from them about our own immune system.
