Good question! In the wild, the red junglefowl survives about 2-4 years on average due to predation and diseases. In my farm, some of have survived till 7-8 years, average would probably be 3-5 years.
Cedric is right about the lifespan of regular chickens. In fact chickens have been known to live for a long time even after their heads have been chopped off. This is because basic tasks like breathing and balancing are controlled by the brain stem which is quite low down. So if the head is chopped off and this bit is left then the chicken can stay alive. One headless chicken called Mike became quite famous. You can read more about him here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_the_Headless_Chicken
But did you know there’s an animal called a mountain chicken that lives for 12 years? It eats it’s prey whole including frogs, snakes and small mammals. If this sounds odd it is because the mountain chicken is actually a frog! Sadly it is now very endangered. You can read more about them here http://www.arkive.org/mountain-chicken/leptodactylus-fallax/
