• Question: How and why do snakes see with thermal vision? Do they even do this?

      The do indeed even though it seems impossible! They have a special heat detecting organ in a pit on their nose – this sends nerve impulses to the part of the brain that generates images so they “see” something they detected with an organ that isn’t their eye. Weird and very wonderful.
