• Question: Does schizophrenia appear in animals?

      Some conditions that affect the mental health of humans are seen in animals too but I don’t think schizophrenia is one of them. That’s because this is a disorder with someone’s sense of self (who they are as an individual) but most animals don’t have a sense of self. Maybe the few that do, like chimpanzees, could develop this but I’m not sure what would trigger it.

      Very interesting to ponder though…
